Nandi Mwase

Researcher

Nandi Mwase is a dedicated Researcher with a doctorate in Epidemiology from the University of Pretoria. Her thesis focused on the application of machine learning in air pollution epidemiology. Nandi is strongly committed to research focusing on the interactions between air pollution, climate change and the impact on public health.

With a background in air pollution epidemiology and machine learning, Nandi brings experience in data analysis, research and data science applications.

Currently, Nandi is a Postdoctoral research fellow at the Department of Family Medicine and Primary Care at Witwatersrand, where she focuses on integrating machine learning in health science education. Through their work, university students will be exposed to the different applications of AI (e.g machine learning) in health science education. She also focuses on expanding the available research on air pollution, climate change and public health in the African continent.
